If you need modafinil, like I do for shift work sleep disorder, then buy it online. I have been for the last 12 months and have had no dramas. Pay about $140 for roughly 3 month supply. I won't recommend a supplier, I will let you do your own research, but it doesn't matter where they claim to be based, don't be fooled, it is probably coming from a third world country, but don't be deterred. When you are satisfied with the supplier, beware that sometimes their second shipment can be not as effective, but there are lots of places selling it, so you just have to run the gauntlet to save a lot of money. There is no generic of the drug in Australia, that is why they can charge so much. Maybe start off with small order and see if it works for you. Hey it works for me and it a hell of a lot cheaper. I just get it posted to me with no problems. Customs have opened the package once and it still came through to me.

This in from Kathrin, yesterday

Hi – this comment is actually related to your post from years ago about Modafinil – last year I was finally diagnosed with “Ideopathic Hypersomnalence” – (essentially excessive tiredness but not as severe as narcolypsy). Have been on Dexamphetamine for 6 months, and now need to see a cardiologist because it is increasing my heart rate (resting BPM 100p/m). My sleep specialist will only presribe Modafinil if the cardiologist comes back and says I should stop taking Dexamphetamine … even then I don’t know if the PBS will cover it because I don’t technically have narcolypsy. Would love to chat to you about it to see if you found Modafinil helpful, cost from overseas etc.

Kathrin, the PBS won’t even cover the cost for narcolepsy unless Dexamphetamine doesnt work or is contraindicated, which it would seem that it is, in your case. I have stopped taking Modafinil since my overseas source shut the shop and went away (apparently leaving some people high and dry). I still have some supplies (I used to buy in bulk, it worked out at about $30 a month that way). The thing is, without PBS cover, its about $120 a month give or take depending on where you buy. For myself, it was only moderately helpful. I didnt want to take Dex, so Modafinil was the only option. It doesnt like my other meds, and so once I went on disability support a year or so back, and was no longer working, I stopped taking it. I will occasionally take one if I know I am going to have to remain awake all day, but what I do now is just accept that I go into what I call the Zombie-zone and when that happens, its sleep, or die (well thats how it feels anyway).

What you did when you went into itunes and the apps when your iPad was plugged in, was drag and drop to where the apps are listed in the sharing section. You cant drag direct to the apps list, not all allow sideloading. If you scroll down to the sharing section, you should be OK. If that doesn't work, the best solution would be to log in to http://discussions.apple.com and put forward your issues there. I'm not an Apple expert, and this blog is no longer maintained except that it exists. I now post (and all these have been moved, including comments except the last day or so) at http://www.hamarana.net
